Lightning ground strike
Posted By: MotoRider, 12-27-2019, 01:20 AM

Lightning strikes early in the morning the day after Christmas.. Even though I didn't feel that great, a few minutes in a field of sugarcane with a storm approaching I packed up not long after this was taken. the WR was tested to a point but I'm trying to avoid the camera getting overly wet..

anyway the outcome is this amazing shot, triggered with a miops smart trigger!!

Oh heck, get a one iron golf club and hold it up high 'cause "not even God hits on a one iron"!

Excellent image, and the composition and colours are fantastic. I've tried lightning images before and could never predict where and when, so that trigger is worth its weight in gold. The colours of the clouds are also spectacular, was there any form of filter or special processing on them?

No filter and shot in RAW.. In pp a bit of contrast and adjusting shadows a bit

so you didn't have to stand there and mash your finger on the shutter button whenever you heard thunder? that's been my strategy before.

Wowza! Great shots. Have a trigger but not enough patience, fortitude or bravery to get out in a storm and test out. Like your results though and may try (a distant setup...). Thanks for sharing.

Wow, the second photo is really scary. Good to know that you didn‘t stand next to it. Looks amazing.
