A beautiful black & white coastal scene! It doesn't look like you are all that far from the water either

Its impressive how the figure is made so insignificant in the scene around them. Solitude and isolation, but with life all around them!

Perfect composition and exposure. The lone person stands out against the surf, and attracts my eye immediately. Well done.

Nice capture, and you are right, that is a precarious position

Thanks Todd. It looks that way doesn't it? Actually I was in a pretty safe spot. Lens zoomed to 95mm and some cropping in post makes it look like I'm closer to the water than I was.

Thanks Lab. Plenty of warning signs along the entire length of the Oregon coast warning of sneaker waves but still two or three people a year get swept off the rocks and drown.

Always beautiful, and dangerous. Makes for a nice photo from further back though.

Both beautiful and dangerous! Beauty has a way of luring the beholder to sometimes unknown danger.

A nice shot. It appears as though he might be looking at his phone (prime target for a sneaker wave). In Australia a couple of rock fishermen get swept away every year by what we call rogue waves. But if you are fishing, at least you are looking at the water.
