Meteor Crater, Arizona.
Lens: DFA 28-105 mm Camera: Pentax K1 Photo Location: 25 miles East of Flagstaff, AZ Shutter Speed: 1/125s Aperture: F11

Meteor Crater is 25 miles East of Flagstaff, Arizona, just South of Interstate-40. The crater is almost a mile in diameter and was carved by a 125-foot meteor eons ago. Well worth a visit, you feel insignificant in this Universe after seeing this celestial phenomenon.

We went there in 1989. I didn't photograph it because I didn't have enough wide-angle capability then, which you really need to capture this sight.

I was there in about 1985. I would have it on film somewhere but I only had a 50mm lens so could not get the full effect. It certainly does make you feel insignificant. I like your shot.

might have to go on a road trip this spring, would love to take in some of that Arizona sun, and see some of those gorgeous colours.

thank you for sharing

Great shot showing the real forces of nature, it really gives the impression of the size of the thing.
