Beautiful Georgian Dublin

The absolutely beautiful wide, Mount Street Upper, just off Merrion Square with The Peppercanister Church (St Stephen's Church) at the end.

Very nice. And you were obviously out early to get the shot.

Actually no, this is one of the quieter parts of Dublin, this was taken just after lunch about 14:00

I second the comment on how nice the picture is, almost looks staged.

Nicely done, did you use a sepia filter?

Thank you, I'm not sure how a humble Old Kerrowdown could stage something quite as large as a street, especially one as big as this.

I'm quite chuffed that you think I've enough clout to get city streets closed for me, I was not shooting anything there, just "oot and aboot" with my "Special Lady” Pentax-A 50mm F1.2, while visiting my No2 Daughter, who works in the Film Industry based in Dublin.

No filters, just in PP... cool Gold and extra rich Gold split toning.

If not for the modern cars and traffic signal, I would easily believe this was a print from 150 years ago. Great post prosessing effect!

Excellent image and choice of post processing! I really like the old world feel of it.

Aye it's quite an eclectic mix.

I like the post-processing! Do you remember if you tried slightly different angles? It seems to be neither symmetric nor off center intentionally, or at least not enough to make it obvious.

Aye but just enough to make it work as an image, because it does have a slight uneasy feel about... with the off centre left bias which you've picked up on.

You've a good eye... standing square on in the middle of the street just didn't work, with verticals vertical, horizontals horizontal, the image became just a technical architectural record shot and it lost the Georgian idiosyncrasies of the scene.

This reminds me of vintage magazines' illustrations.
