The Focal Point is Sharp . . . . .
Lens: DFA 50/2.8 Camera: K-1 Photo Location: Music Room ISO: 3200 Shutter Speed: 1/30s Aperture: F4

Yes, that lens is really sharp at the focal point. I believe the DFA 50mm macro is the same optically as the FA 50mm that I have, and it is extremely sharp. I always focus manually with mine, and I find it very easy to get what I want in focus.

Thanks for the comments, Todd. And - yeah - I'm finding the performance of the lens to be quite good, despite the fact it cost less than 300 bucks!

The piano key in focus is F# (F-sharp) which is identical to Gb (G-flat) in musical terminology. I guess my attempt at musical humor fell rather . . . . . . . . . flat.

Don't worry, I got it immediately. I used to play percussion and the marimba was my favorite.
