High Contrast Hummingbird
Lens: DA*60-250 w/HD 1.4x teleconverter Camera: K-3II Photo Location: Granite Bay, CA ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/500s Aperture: F7.1

This hummingbird did not cooperate. I was trying to photograph it in my camellia and he landed in my crape myrtle which gave me a shot right into the sun. I was not able to recover enough color for a good photo, so converted it to black & white.

The composition of the photo is good. The branches work well with how the bird is positioned, they lead me right to the bird and its eye.
Even though it is already processed, I think more could be achieved.

Is the yellow color in the photo on purpose? It isn't fully B&W now.
In case of a B&W conversion I would personally go for deeper blacks, the photo seems unintentionally faded now.
I would also crop away the very bottom part of the branches, the notches are slightly distracting.
There is also severe banding across the whole photo.

(if you want I could show you an alternative PP version, based on the posted photo)

Lightroom settings on top of your JPEG, in case you're interested.
(+ some local adjustments to bring out the bird and reduce highlights on the branches)
