I can't imagine how they would keep the paints warm enough to flow! Nice image!

It is not clear for me too. May be they are using oil paints.

Why would anyone brave the cold long enough to paint a scene now that you can just photograph it, it is beyond me. Thanks for sharing this surreal scene!
