Very nice set of London by night. I particularly like this street ending on the Shard.

I like the photo of the Mews ending in the ultra modern building. A great contrast.

Thank you, fsge:4890971. This is a cobbled passageway off Eastcheap leading to Lower Thames Street.

Thank you too, József;4891024. The two shots you like both include the Shard but from opposite sides of the Thames. The strange dark skyscraper is also known as the Batman building because of its Batmanlike appearance taken from some viewpoints - less so from mine because I was trying to get the Shard into the shot and the usual view was cluttered that night. You can see the Batman building easily on the South Bank as it is the neighbour of City Hall.

Thank you also, Kerrowdown. I will be posting more shots of other views over the next few days if that will not be seen as being too greedy.

Thank you also, James also. As I replied elsewhere the passageway is Lovat Lane close to the Monument. The ultra modern building is the Shard.

I really love all of those shots, even if I have a preference for those taken at night. Thanks for sharing, it's really beautiful, interesting and educational.

Thank you for liking my photos, Jozsef. The weekend combined tourism and practising some photography skills. I hadn’t been to London for 20 years and so much has changed. The last time I went I was on honeymoon with my second wife. I had a Practika MTL3 film camera. I clicked and clicked but I got suspicious when I seemed to have taken 38 shots on a 36 shot film. When I checked, I found that The film had never wound on because it hadn’t caught properly on the sprockets of the free spool. So I never got any photos on my last visit.

Thank you for your kind comments. Night, sunset and sunrise photos were what I most wanted to practice.
