It is a nice looking bird. Not too good at photography software apart from doing some cropping!!!

Here is another shot with better light, but a twig is obscuring part of the bird's beak which is why I didn't originally post it.

Yeah birds are challenging so I love seeing as many photos as I can because it is almost as good as being there .

Thanks, Todd. I never expected such a variety of birds as I saw in this inner suburban nature reserve. It had a large lake area as well, with many wetlands birds. A real oasis of nature and peace.

Thanks pichaser. Yes, they mostly are not programmed to act in convenient ways for photographers!

Thanks, reh321. Yes, its colouring is very muted and blended well with the foliage. On top of that, I shoot without glasses, but I need glasses to see clearly for anything more than 3 metres away. I think he must have moved against the skyline and gave himself away.
