My ugly mug. off camera flash and 16-50
Posted By: vievetrick, 10-23-2008, 08:07 PM

I am renting the DA16-50 and have been playing with off camera flash set up's. That DA is very, very nice. It is a rental and I think pretty sharp. Anyway, here are a couple of my mug this evening. I am the only willing model in the house. To lazy to get out the tripod so they are hand held at arms length. A smidge of cropping and smidge of sharpening (really a smidge)

Comments welcomed. Be nice about the model

Cactus V2s 540 flash behind left into an umbrella,Sigma 500 on floor right no umbrella.

bigger versions can be found here Flickr: vievetrick's Photostream if you want to see how sharp they look.

Nice one mate

this is my favourite lens... if you get a good copy its a gem.

Covers the range that I shoot mostly in and it hardly comes of the camera... usually only for the DA 50-135

Are you now planning on getting one?

It is lovely to meet you Pat, great self portraits

It really does look like a great lens. I am considering this lens for my first new lens purchase, I am just worried about all of the bad copies out there, it's all too scary.

I bit the bullet and took the chance... even purchased from the states which now is not looking so viable with the way the Aussie Dollar has been.

LOLOL you guys are funny. I knew I could get some sillyness when posting shots of myself. Thanks all.

Nulla - Lucky you owning this gem- it the bank account allows I may get it

JC - thanks, I have a bunch of tinkering to to to get it just right. I like the second much more as well. I really enjoy learning this new phase and with winter around the corner I think it will be more fun as time goes on.

Mel - I would get it if I had the cash. The first new lens I bought was it's little brother the 16-45 and still use it 75% of the time

Charlie - LOLOL a sad Sox fan for now. We can't win them all

Damn Brit - I may be able to convince the wife we need this if it makes me look good

Jimbo - it is what they say for sure.

Nicely done. The second one appears to have the better lighting. In the first one, there is a lot of light right at the right eye level. If you were just a "tad" better looking, you could be a Yankee fan like me. BTW, I'm pulling for the Rays.
