Coburg Lakes Reserve - White-browed Scrubwren
Lens: Pentax 55-300mm PLM Camera: Pentax KP Photo Location: Coburg, Victoria ISO: 400 Shutter Speed: 1/60s Aperture: F6.3
Posted By: K2 to K50, 01-10-2020, 07:45 PM

Was pushing my luck at this shutter speed and the PLM at 300mm, but Pentax shake reduction making this just possible.

Was leaving the park after a 2-hour walk and shoot with my friend and his partner. His partner spotted this one - a cute little bird with what looks like a white X across its face, with the centre of the X on the beak.

Thats a really cool pic of a wren with an attitude! Angry birds step aside. Seriously, I like the focus on the eyes and isolation from the background. Nice image!

A few years back I would have found this little guy "boring": no pretty colours, etc. But I am now finding these smaller, "nondescript" birds have a character all their own.
