Hi,

another wide field astrophotography with the Samyang 135mm at f/2, shot on tripod with astrotracer

Many dust clouds are visible on top of the main nebulae of the region : Orion Nebula (Messier 42), Running Man Nebula (NGC 1975) Horsehead nebula (Barnard 33), Flame Nebula (NGC 2024) Messier 78, Barnard's loop and (half of) witchead nebula (IC 2118)
Stack of 30 frames, 30 sec each at ISO 800, together with 90 calibration frames (darks, biases, flats)

regards,

Dan

Hi. Nice image. What stacking software are you using, and what camera? I want to start taking some astronomy shots but may need to find some dark skies.

It is nice to see what can be achieved with astrotracer and a bit of dedication.

Wow! That's a fabulous demonstration of the Astrotracer on the K1ii. Did you have to re-frame the stars to complete the stack? I should try a similar shot with the DFA 100 macro lens.

Thanks a lot Mike !

Camera is K-1 Mark II + Samyang 135

For stacking I use Siril, IMHO the best free option available : Siril, An astronomical image processing tool

Thanks Rob ! I had to do a coarse reframing every 5 shots with the tripod head. After that precise stacking is done with Siril.

Thanks also StiffLegged and PJ1 for your kind messages,

Dan

thanks a lot aitrus3.

Yes the Samyang 135 is one of the best lenses out there in K-mount, an also fairly cheap.

Thanks for the link to the stacking software. I may try this with astrotracer. I may also attempt some through my telescope if I get my tracking mount aligned and working correctly.

Astrobackyard says it's one of his best purchases.
