Yes it is and to one third of the price of the Pentax 150-450. The reason I added Nikon to my camera bag.

The Nikon was under 600.00? That is a good deal since long focal lengths seem to increase in price as a multiple of how long they are! . The D-FA 150-450 was under 1800 USD this past holiday season.
Very good job with the focus point staying on the bird's eyes, even with the wire as a possible interference.

In Sweden the Pentax 150-450 is in equivalent to $2400 and the Sigma Contemporary is ~$800.

The AF on the Nikon D810 helps as well as using back button focusing.
