That is a Gorgeous Shot of a beautiful Birds Rob. Wow, just stunning ! I really have to think about the HD DA 55-300 PLM as another lens to acquire! Nice feather details!

Thanks! It's a great lens - good colour and reasonably sharp for something so light and compact. I wish I could take my DFA 150-450 with me on trips overseas, but I can still get some nice shots with the PLM.

Thank you! I had to stalk him around the gardens, but luckily he decided to pose on the temple wall.

Thank you! I haven't seen many really colourful birds in Japan, so it was worth chasing this guy.

Wow, thanks Tony! The only disappointment I have with the HDDA 55-300 PLM is that it tends to get vignetting at wide apertures at 300mm.

A very strikingly coloured little bird. And a beautifully detailed capture, Rob.

With this and your other Japan series pics, you really have me wishing I could go there for a week or two! But budget would probably not allow it, so your wonderful images have to substitute!

Thank you! I'm really happy with the HDDA 55-300. With the HDDA 16-85, I have a great set of lenses for travel, and both are weather sealed.

I hope you can afford even a brief trip to Japan one day - at least from Queensland, Jetstar regularly has really cheap fares. I must put together another photo book of my travels in Japan!
