These are the types of captures that motivate me to shoot as often as I do = one of a kind extremely unique.

In my mind this type of photo transcends nature photography into abstract art.

The background is natural - snow covered ground. I'm shooting above the bird using the white ground as a backdrop. The camera is set to matrix metering which underexposes the darker birds. I then push up the shadows and highlights in post which "whites out" the background giving the illusion the bird has been cut and pasted onto a white backdrop.
