Fish Crow
Lens: pentax DA*300 Camera: k-3 Photo Location: Milford CT ISO: 800 Shutter Speed: 1/500s Aperture: F8

Made friends with a pair of Fish crows this weekend while at the Shoreline. No idea if this was the male or female but pretty sure they were a pair.

A very nice photo. Looks as though he/she caught some fall out from a relative.

Thanks, They look very similar to American crows but are a little different in appearance. The real give away is the their calls are different, the fish crow often sounds like it literally has a fish stuck in its throat!

Thanks! Yes he did get a little white washed! I believe it was from the pigeon colony that these crows were hanging out near. The crows had found a wild turkey leg that was left by a predator and where feeding on it... Just behind them was a patch of grass that the pigeons were flying back and forth to collecting nesting material... My guess is my friend the crow was a victim of wrong place wrong time!
