Astrophotography with GR II
Camera: Ricoh GR II Photo Location: Queyras ISO: 1600 Shutter Speed: Above 6s Aperture: F2.8
Posted By: Dan Paris, 03-12-2020, 07:13 AM

Hi,

the GR II is not well-known for its astrophotography abilities but nevertheless it is so small that it can be carried everywhere.... Also the internal infinity preset is surprisingly accurate.

This one was shot from Refuge de la Blanche (2,500m) in Queyras (French Alps) during a 3-day ski touring trip.

ISO 1600 and f/2.8, 30 * 15 sec (with internal intervalometer) on a tabletop tripod set on the snow, stacked with Sequator (with 15 dark frames and 15 flat field frames).

regards,
Dan

What a view, bravo! It's great that such result can be obtained with the simplest of equipment.

Awesome pic. 15 seconds looked like just right before you start getting star trails.
