Nice shot. 1/90 sec and ISO 100? I assume you were in a hurry to snap the photo with those setting? Or were you on a tripod or something else to steady the camera?

Thanks, yep in a big hurry he flew off shortly after I got the shot. I saw him through our French doors and went and removed my DA*11-18 and put the PLM on and slowly opened the door to get the shot hand held.

Nice shot, I have found that feeding small birds generally draws these guys. The ones in my yard are bold enough to sit on the feeder.

I would be curious to see him in your BIF shots, but he probably fills the frame

No, Larry is correct, that is a Cooper's Hawk. Check your field guide.

Thanks, Yep they were taking taking a couple of smaller birds along with a few doves last summer but I haven't seen any feathers in our yard this year, yet. Last year on occasion one wound swoop in and perch on a shepherd's hook for a bit. Thanks for the visit!!

Many thanks, yep the S/R definitely helped with this one! I still ended up with a bit of camera shake.
