Lucky Eagle
Lens: D-FA 150-450 Camera: K-1 Photo Location: Searsport, Maine ISO: 250 Shutter Speed: 1/500s Aperture: F9

Here is a fellow who swooped in front of my car as I was on my way to lunch. He landed right beside the road near a Police car that was monitoring traffic so I found a place to pull off the road and park and grabbed my K-1 which already had my 150-450 mounted.

All are SOOC and cropped either a lot or a little.

Great shots. Love that eye! There is no doubt that it helps to be in the right place at the right time. But it is what you do with the opportunity that really counts and you made the most of it!

Here is the last one with the bird in the tree. A decent shot of the nictating eyelid halfway across.

About 500 yards or so from the Atlantic Ocean, he/she had been getting harassed by an attempted murder of crows where he was attempting to perch while waiting out the high gusting winds, and landed for a drink in a puddle alongside the highway near the local police officer. I parked up the road a ways and walked back and while I was shooting him along the road he flew up into the tree he is in for the pictures. Lots of rivers and such here in the Mid Coast region of Maine.
