Hey Paul, methinks Jilly might let you in to her " isolation chamber " for as little a price as a pat, and a scratch behind the ears.....................but definitely a doggy treat !!!

What a fantastic capture. I really like all the colors in this one. A very handsome looking K-9. Thanks for the treat.

Now that's my kind of isolation chamber...the great outdoors ! Lovely looking pup, who seems to be enjoying herself out in the woods.

Thanks for the nice comments, guys.

Side note, that F 35-70 is an astonishingly good $20 lens. This was shot wide open. It's reasonably fast for a walk around, small, light, and cheap. I'm sure there is something better, but for the money...

The SMC F35-70 f/3.5-4.5 is a cracking bit of glass (on APS-C, at least - I can't comment on full frame performance). My friend and colleague @MarkJerling is a big fan of this lens and has posted numerous shots taken with it here on the forum, and that prompted me to pick one up a year ago. I paid a little more than you did - GBP 25 (around $30) for a very clean copy with original caps - but still consider it an absolute bargain considering the performance and rendering (which your photo of Jilly demonstrates admirably)...

Several members refer to this lens as a "bunch of primes". It is my favourite walk-about lens.

And to the OP:

Lovely shot!

Thanks! She is, in fact, a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever.
