Up On the Roof
Lens: DA* 300/4 Camera: K-1 Photo Location: Garage Roof ISO: 800 Shutter Speed: 1/750s Aperture: F8

This character felt that "this old world is getting me down", consulted the Drifters and then went "up on the roof." I'm orthnilogically challenged, and sometime back Mar (photolady95) sent me a link to a bird identification website; after consulting the website, I'm making bold assertion that this bird is a Mocking Bird.

Beautiful photo, Jer. Especially nice when viewed at larger size (I recommend folks to click on the image and zoom in... it's worth it)

I second both the praise for the photo, and the recommendation to click on the image to view, and enlarge, in Flicker. You can see the tiny whiskers hanging down below the eye. The texture of the tiles, the bokeh background - lovely shot.

We don't have mockingbirds here but I think you may be right. And it is a nice, sharp shot.

Thanks - I'm pretty sure it is - indeed - a mockingbird, but I'm no authority!

You are correct in your identification, Jer. And it's a fine shot of one too.

Just a tad of info for you, Mockingbirds don't eat seed like other birds do, they can't digest the seed. They like tomatoes and other fruit.

Thanks, buddy. He may also realize that our cars are clean and detailed and is waiting for an opportunity to target one of 'em when I pull it out of the garage!

Thanks for the nice words and the info, Mar. Also, thanks again, for giving me the link.
