Usually when someone posts photos of birds taken in a reserve in Florida, it's on the west coast of the state. That was the reason for my question because I live just north of Cape Canaveral/Merritt Island reserve.

Thanks for the kind comments. These birds were at the rookery located inside of Gatorland in Orlando. It always amazes me how they choose to build their nests above the swampy areas with so many alligators. The gators protect them from predators and the birds are willing to lose a chick or two for the extra protection. There is also a large population of Wood Storks and Snowy Egrets that nest there. Photographers, for a fee, are allowed in before the park opens and stay late for sunset for a few days each week. There is a similar rookery in St. Augustine and one located in a private zoo in Myrtle Beach, SC. All these have alligators as the common denominator. These are not captive birds by any means.

Thanks Thomas. The male spent all day passing branches to his chosen. It becomes a bit predictable as to where the exchange will take place making it easier to photograph.

Thanks for the explanation, Susan and btw, the ones I photograph aren't in a zoo or a reserve, they're in the wild.

And that's true for many of us. When you see an image you really like, you can click through and give it a flickr fav as well. Then when we understand what people like, flickr is good, because people can click through, and if we've posted 6 images we can see which exact image they liked.
