Pretty In Pink

I was bored till I saw a Red Bud, blooming. To get a sense of scale of how tiny the blooms are, check out the mosquito on the little leaf at the top.

Beautiful image - looks like a painting, the background adding to this effect -although I doubt any artist would have included the mosquito!!

Why not? I was outside in his house, would have been impolite of me to ask him to move. LOL The background as shot was a jumbled mess of distraction which necessitated a change anyhow, so it was easy to use complementary color post.

Thank you. Color theory can play an important part of any composition. In addition to creating harmonious schemes you also need to remember that warm colors like reds, yellows and oranges advance while cool colors like blue or green retract. That's why the flowers pop so well here.
