One of my uni friends decided to buy sail boat and dock it ear Brock University one semester. The cost of the boat and moorage fees was cheaper than residence. So he and his dad bought a suitable old boat, fixed it up. Unfortunately as always happens, the repairs took longer than expected. SO they ended up sailing it from Toronto to St. Catherine's in late October. Unfortunately for them he ran it aground and sank it. Which required an Ontario Provincial Police response with a huge charge and fine.
Doug stayed at my place once for a few days, and had enough other friends he could stay with, including the tower conference room on campus, that he got through the semester.
But, lot's of money spent, nothing to show for it.
