Was not sure how to crop this pic - think I should have taken a wider crop, or even stuck to the original frame?. Click on photo to see original.

If you don't mind me throwing in my 2 cents:
I would have rotated the image clockwise a couple degrees so that the light gray access road behind the runway is horizontal. I would have cropped the image so that the plane was 1/3 of the way in from the left side of the frame and allowed more runway visible in front of it (in effect, 'pan' to the right a little).

I don't mind anyone throwing in their 2 cents worth, Apet-Sure. Is this what you had in mind? Not too much empty space on the right? I certainly take on board your comment re the horizontal alignment. And I will probably pay more attention to horizontal and vertical alignments in future, so just in that alone, I appreciate your comment.

I'm no expert in composition, but I do like the second version better. If you are not familiar with the 'rule of thirds' you may want to read up on it. Psychologically, the empty space on the right gives room for the plane to continue on its roll out. By the way, if you are looking for helpful suggestions, you can post images here: Photo Critique - PentaxForums.com.
