I love the little Green Herons and this one posed for me so well. Should have bought him a fish.

Nice, Susan. I don't remember ever seeing one of these around here - interesting critter, for sure.

Thanks KD. I keep trying but seem to run in spurts. Being cooped up has put a huge crimp in my bird watching though.

Thanks for the kind comment. I saw this bird in the same spot a couple of years ago so I guess the fishing must be really good.

Your welcome, it comes almost as second nature if you photograph often, controls become a reflex action.

Sounds like and ideal excuse for a much bigger lens to me... to shoot from the house.

Tell that to the old man. Actually, I have enough trouble holding the 300. Need to rent a teenager to hold anything bigger.

Thanks a lot. They were plentiful this year at Merritt Island and are always fun to see.

That's why we have tripods...

I won't tell the old man your hiring teenagers... he could well take that the wrong way.

He is way to busy to spend time on this forum. He is currently consoling himself with a wee dram of SpringBank and thinks he may have died and gone to his heavenly reward.

That's why we have tripods...

I've never figured out how to use one for moving creatures.

That is a very nice image Susan, thanks for showing us. As for teenagers and tripods, forget it. A walker to carry the stuff, a monopod in the cane carrier and your all set. Seriously, that's me.

I can't seem to get the hang of monopod either. For some reason, hand holding the camera is the only thing I am comfortable with for wildlife anyway. Glad you enjoyed the image Heinrich. Hope you and your wife are settling in OK.

That's a start... I'm concerned the word used was dram not drams.

One word... gimbals, if that's your needs capturing moving beasts.

Have you tried finding SpringBank in the southern US. Darn near impossible so he will nurse it as long as he can.
