Loch Ness Pano
Posted By: Kerrowdown, 04-17-2020, 09:04 AM

Lock down here for a while longer yet... so on a fine day and I've got time to play, so something new for me to do.

This from the Kerrowdown Estate this afternoon... it's an 18 portrait format K1 shots, sorted out by Photoshop.

So this wee jpg file doesn't really do it justice...

There's just a staggering amount of captured detail on the 1.94 GB tiff file.

Similar in appearance to Grant Wood prairie art. Here is an example. https://www.gannett-cdn.com/-mm-/cc6b6d393005f3a47f609801882c664cecf97c6d/c=...t=405&fit=crop

I am sure you are acquainted with Grant Wood's work. The Scotts are certainly acquainted with Grant Wood's American Gothic. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/c/cc/Grant_Wood_-_Ameri...rt_Project.jpg -- Oh, that guy.

Grant Wood is buried about 20-yards from my grandfather. My grandfather was a pauper who died when my mom was 7. But in the cemetery, all men are equally dead.

Thank you, yes I'm very lucky and also South facing, so when there is some Sun, I get it all day.

This is about 90 degrees of a 180 degree view and at 18 images thought that would be enough for my first pano trial. It still created a 1.94GB tiff file, so just shy of a 4GB file for the full view, would be a pretty massive file to deal with.

If I’m real lucky... I’ve still got spare fingers on one hand, when it comes to counting them.

You might want to visit Denver Colorado. About 300 sunny days per year on average as I've read. Be sure to bring your sunblock lotion though. Denver has an elevation of about 5280 feet, so the Sun's rays are quite strong.

In that case I'd need warp factor 1000 sunblock, for Scots... each week in the Sun goes like this.

We start off coloured Blue, a week later in the Sun we go White, next following week we go Red and the week after that, our skin falls off.
