I love these birds. They were feeding in a small canal and usually made the same pass. I felt lucky to get this shot as they were coming toward me. Missed the eye but I will take it anyway.

Beautiful "Birds in Action" shot! This has everything - wingspan, reflections, water spray. water trail.

Terrific capture, Susan. I love the symmetry here - a complex symmetry that emerges as you look at the picture. When it does so, the composition is complete and exceptional.

I am a fan . Florida is on my bucket list but a region requires real familiarity .

Thanks Jer. My eye finds it a bit confusing but still, it was a lot of fun to finally get a shot of these guys.

You would be surprised at how easy it is to become familiar with the state. Start by picking one place you want to see (i.e. Merritt Island) then stand next to a photographer and ask him where the best place to photograph Roseates for example, or Burrowing Owls. He or she will tell you and every time you do that you find another place to go and see. The refuges, wetlands, swamps, etc. are so numerous that you will find it easy to keep busy for the entire breeding season. You won't have to travel far either unless you want to. We spend a month there most years and it just isn't long enough.

Fantastic capture! It seems to have very little noise for ISO 5000. Did you process it with something like Topaz DeNoise?

Yes, I usually use DeNoise for anything over ISO 500. Does a good job most of the time. Thanks for the lovely comment.

I have downloaded a trial version of DeNoise, but haven't installed it and fired it up yet. Guess I'll have to take the plunge.
