Caught this seagull this morning poaching his breakfast. I watched as he repeatedly would get in his beak only to not be able to hold on to it and drop back in water. He must have dropped it half dozed times before giving up. Got this one on his third attempt or so.

My 18-135 did not have enough reach enough reach to really get up closer but one day maybe I can enlarge and crop in LR. I'm just starting out so I'm a novice so be kind.

Nice shot! Flying birds aren't the easiest - the K-3 has enough resolution to offer a bit of a crop and still end up with a size image - give it a go!

Thanks! I will eventually. I have it in RAW. I will probably wait to dive in to LR until I get some more under my belt. Thank you for taking time to comment.

That's is a huge fish for that bird to try and carry. Good catch.

Very nice capture. The gull looks like it got a little over ambitious with that big fish.

I looked up the Forstner Tern and it looks a bit smaller. The do apparently exist here though. This is about 25-30 miles from the southernmost point of Texas. Gorgeous area. We have been privey to wild tom and hen turkeys, Javelina, Coyotes, Greenjays all coming through our campsite. Great place to be locked down for a month.
