I don't usually do flowers, but thought I'd play with some off camera flash and try a tulip portrait, and then I had some fun and did an impressionistic version.

Very nice indeed, this is my kind of flower photography, soft and gentle.

Yes! I got a like from the flower master! I admit, you (along with a few others on Facebook) were my inspiration.

Thanks! I played around with it a lot, and originally I boosted the clarity quite a bit. Took a step back and realized that the clearer part of the flower actually needed much less clarity.

Thanks Todd While I liked the normal version, I didn't love it until I decided to try stacking a whole bunch of shots together and bringing a little of the clarity back in.

I can imagine that picture hanging on the wall.

aitrus, the more I study this image, the more I am convinced that what you have here is a contest winner. Please consider entering this into the Gallery Contests here on PF.

I would love to have this one hanging on more than one wall in my home. Very creative and very interesting. Thanks again.

Wow, thanks TT. Coming from you that's high praise. I've not heard of the Gallery Contests. Where can you find them? I looked briefly and they weren't where I first suspected.

For those curious, here is a side-by-side "Tulip-two-ways" frame.

Just look up above where it starts: Recent Photos, Post a Photo, Critique,Contest Gallery and Enter a Contest. Hope this helps. TT
