Very cool. There's something alien about this thing - maybe because it resembles the pods in the original movie of "Invasion of the Body Snatchers".

Often Sci Fi things are based on nature... but just made out to be more unbelievable.

I think you're onto something there, Robert. I've loved John Wyndham's stories since I was in high school back in the early '60s, and I can remember seeing "Day of the Triffids" at the Mt. Vernon Illinois Drive-in Theater in the summer of '63 - the first date with my girlfriend for that summer. I also remember "Midwich Cuckoos", which also was made into a movie of a different name - "Village of the Damned" ??

I don't think I've seen any of the movie adaptations, but the books are good reading.

I've only seen these movies on the "Gold" channels as re runs... me just being a youngster and all.
