The Hunter B&W
Posted By: Jimbo, 10-30-2008, 02:59 PM

For you Gary here is a quick switch to B&W. I may spend a little more time tweaking later. JIMBO

That's great Jimbo, I think that shot definitely deserves the treatment. Just seems more in keeping with the hunting theme.

Has your friend seen it yet, what did he think?

Thanks Gary. I will continue to work on it to see how far I can push the B&W. The color is crop only. JIMBO

Appreciate the comments. He told me some stories that would make anyones hair curle. Very much of a gentleman and for 82, he could keep up with all of us. JIMBO

A really well done character portrait. In line with your theme "Hunter" it shows a sort of weathered ruggedness. I think the B&W treatment was spot on.
Well done, Jimbo!

Hey Jimbo

Like this B&W a lot. A very good portrait shot, capturing his persona. The B&W really works for me....

Reminds me of my grandfather when I was younger.

Yes, a good BW image. For character portayals, you can't BW. There is certain quality the monotones impart to people that colour does not. I never could put my finger on it. Perhaps its a nostalgic feeling of some kind.

Pretty intense Jimbo. What a strong and rugged face, full of character. No punches pulled on that shot!

Thanks Peter.. It just wasn't a straight conversation. Played mainly with the face by adjusting the tones and levels along is shadows around the eyes. JIMBO
