Lookin' Back to My Sailing Days
Lens: DA 18-250 Camera: K20D Photo Location: Galveston Bay

Like others, I've been reviewing old files from photos of times past. Here are some shots from 2009 of my friend, Dan, single-handing his first-generation Catalina 30, a sister ship and earlier version of our Catalina 30 MkIII, Cut Time, from which these pics were taken. We sold Cut Time at the end of 2014, and I've missed her every day since.

What a beautiful vessel. I cannot recall ever seeing a Main Mast as tall as this one. It appears to be just about the right length and configuration for any experienced seaman to crew her himself.

Wonderful series, wonderfully captured. Many thanks for sharing.

Hey, Dave - thanks much. That was a great afternoon - as so many were when we were sailing the bay.

Thank you, Heinrich. You take care of yourself, as well.

Great photos Jer, and a good looking boat!
My brother had a very similar boat and we've enjoyed sailing the Baltic sea ... good memories!

Thanks, Robert. Yup - that's the reason for my username. I started sailing when I was in 6th grade in the late '50s, a lifestyle involving a series of 9 boats until my wife made me sell Cut Time in 2014.
