Some soothing seascapes during troubled times
Lens: Samyang 24mm Camera: K-1 Photo Location: Waddensea, the Netherlands
Posted By: Fries, 05-13-2020, 02:45 PM

I have limited my outings during the pandemic and if I go out to relax I alway's end up at the Waddensea. It is the most popular nature reserve in the Netherlands and there has been an uptick in people that are living nearby posting pictures on social media for the benefit of those who can't see it with their own eyes. I partnered with a a major NGO sharing the timelapses I made for my employer in this area with the same purpose: Waddenvereniging - Ontdek de Wadden: timelapses in het waddengebied

Cheers,

Remco

1.
Night sky. Made this during a new timelapse to end the series.

2. A fence on the seaside.

3. The sun peeking trough.

4. Speeding clouds.

5. A rain shower above the island of Schiermonnikoog far away.

Great imagery as usual from yersel.

I just can't get over how flat your landscapes are... the fourth image you can still see a fence/pier/posts out on the horizon.

Thanks! Not visible in the photo is the island of Ameland on the right hand side which has a sand dune that is 24 meters high!!! And one of the smaller island in the Waddensea in my province is Vlieland. I visited the island this week for a story about the 'Vuurboetsduin'; the biggest sand dune in the whole Wadden area. It is a whopping 45 meters high. In normal times lots of tourists flock too these dunes...

The word "whopping" and 45 metres aren't used in the same sentence around here.

There might be a tiny bit of irony involved when I chose to phrase it that way...😁
