Oh, it's not a selfie ….

Great shot of the feathers. They are an amazingly colourful bird and a lot of different pheasant species with different colours.

Thank you, pretty noisy individuals too... when you've got bouquet (proper collective noun, I'll have you know) of pheasants around the place at present.

Ring-Necked Pheasants were brought to Iowa from China as a game species. I did not know they were dispersed elsewhere. They replaced the Prairie Chicken which did not adapt well to agriculture, and did not adapt well to pheasants laying their eggs in pheasant nests. The pheasant chicks hatched first, and the adults would abandon the nests probably believing their own chicks hatched but their own didn't.

I've never lived where these birds live so seeing one online by a great photographer is a plus for me.

Well if you fell the need for any more... I have a large bouquet of them here.
