Pinwheel Galaxy (M101) from my light-polluted backyard

Hi,


M101 is a large and beautiful galaxy in Ursa Major. It was not so easy to bring out the faint outer arms from light pollution






Details:

GSO 200/800 Newtonian scope with GPU coma corrector on Vixen GPD2 mount
ZWO ASi 1600MM cooled monochrome camera with ZWO filter wheel, LRGB filters, off-axis guider and ASI 120MM mini guiding camera, everything run by ASIAIR
Luminance : 60*120 sec at gain 76
Chrominance : 10*120sec at gain 76 for each channel
60 darks, 20 flats for each filter (2 sec), 20 darks of flats
Preprocessing and stacking with Siril, processing with PixInsight, final touching up with Rawtherapee

Some great imagery from yourself...

But with these kind of technical details... for which I'd need to use Google Translate to try and even attempt to understand.



I'll stick to the old plain photography stuff.

My eyes glaze over when reading the technical details, but not before they have enjoyed this wonderful image!

On the other hand, as someone who has just started to dabble a little in astrophotography this gives me some terms to google and an idea or what can be achieved even in a somewhat light polluted area. For me the technical details are much appreciated.
