That is pretty crazy. It looks as if each customer has to run their own phone line.

Crazy is a good description Todd. The wires are mixture of power and phone, but I have no clue which is which.

I think this is all low voltage and the power is up on top of the poles, out of the frame in the 4th photo and across the street in the 3rd. Either way, it looks like spaghetti...

I guess they would go through a few apprentices. But you have to admire the way they get things done when there is a lack of what we would regard as basic infrastructure. Very interesting set of pics.

Amazing. I never thought I would see anything as bad or worse than in India. Very interesting and scary situation.

That's always problem with aerial lines in highly populated areas. Interesting set!
Also an interesting camera used. I completely forgot that Pentax made this versatile superzoom compact camera. Probably a good compromise while travelling to places like this. Pentax X90 is +20 better than Fujifilm x70.

Thanks. I bought the X-90 for the trip. At the time I owned a K20D and some medium quality lenses, but it felt wrong to me to walking around with a camera that's value could have fed a family in Vietnam for 6 months.

Nice capture

There some scary stuff out there, a good way to waste an hour or three is use google street view in different countries. What you'd consider outrageous is really the norm in some places.
