Pentax 645Z version of the Batiscan River (Yesss, the water is this blue !).
Lens: 645 FA 150-300 mm f/5.6 Camera: Pentax 645Z Photo Location: Quebec, CANADA ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 1/350s Aperture: F11

I finally returned to photograph the Batiscan River with my Pentax 645Z this time. Tripod-mounted 645Z + 645 FA 150-300 mm f/5.6 @ f/11 (upper picture at 300 mm, lower one at 150 mm). Medium format cameras provide such magnificent results that you sometimes wonder if you shouldn't just get rid of all your APS-C gear ... And, yes, the water is astonishingly blue once again, this must really be its true color.

It's more like a blue ink! But yeah - I've seen this colour on some Scandinavian rivers and lakes. The sky does it.

Well, our 'Carolina blue' skies are several shades lighter. I wondered if it had something to do with a certain mineral content in the water. Was a polarizing filter used?

No CPL used. I never use a Polarizer on telephoto lenses. This is an undisturbed river coming down from the mountains. The only animal population north of this point is a few hundred moose, probably wearing diapers on our Government's orders not to pollute the water ... lol !

Regards !
