Not for the squeamish: Snake vs. Gecko
Lens: smc PENTAX-D FA MACRO 100mm F2.8 WR Camera: Pentax K-1 Mark II Photo Location: Hong Kong ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 1/200s Aperture: F11

While walking our dog the other night my wife and I came upon this scene, which sent me running home for the camera... It's a common wolf snake and a female gecko of some sort. I'm a fan of geckos but I like snakes as well. There was no question how this was going to go but I wish the gecko had laid her eggs before she become supper!

Good series. Not much point in cheering for the gecko, is there. No contest.

Cool series catching the action - I have a feeling that the snake has the upper hand here...

Beautiful snake. And the action doesn't make me squeamish, we all have to eat, even snakes. TFS

Great series that depicts an everyday scene that we may never see except for your efforts .

I wonder how long the meal lasts... before the snake needs to eat again.

I've been wondering that too! I haven't seen the snake again but I walk past there a couple of times a day and will keep an eye out...

From what I have read about snakes in general, many of them can last for weeks or even months after a substantial meal like that - don't know if that applies to this species, however.
