Monument Valley sunrise, 1998, ARIZONA. · 12:19 PM

In 1998, I traveled West and stopped at the Monument Valley campground (existing at the time). The night had been windy as hell with my van being shaken all the time. I got up at 4h30 AM and was greeted by this spectacular sunrise. Tripod-mounted Pentax 67 + late-model 55 mm f/4 @ f/11. This is a copy of my original print made with my Canon compact.

nice colors. We are headed there in Oct. for 40 yr wedding anniversary. hope to get some colorful pictures. thanks for sharing.

Now the Navajo Nation has built a cozy Hotel where this campground stood years ago. With some Eastern-facing rooms, you can enjoy this spectacular sight.

we have reserved one of the cabins by the hotel. can view and take pics from the porch for sunrise and sunset.
