Bike product shot for e22 titanium -light painting
Lens: Rollei 50/1.8 Camera: A7 ISO: 50 Aperture: F2.8
Posted By: pinholecam, 06-24-2020, 07:22 PM

Wanted to do a product like shot of my bike that sometimes can be seen in magazines with multiple strobes highlighting the bike.
Instead of charging up all the batteries for 3 flashes and lugging them and lightstands downstairs, I opted to do light painting with the bike's front light instead.
Mounted the camera on a tripod and shot 3 exposures each with the light shining where I would have placed a strobe (ie. front 45deg; left rear; right rear)
Merged them in PS using the "lighten" overlay option.

The lens is nothing special for Rollei, but holds special value to me as its a made in Singapore version of the lens where I am from/in.
I had it converted to M42 mount, so it also works on a Pentax camera

Nicely done. I do wonder if a slightly less "busy" background would have made your lovely bicycle stand out more?

Thanks
Maybe I should have ridden to a part of the carpark that has less cars
Its been raining almost everyday, whole day, so no outdoor shoots and I thought I'd try one of those "carpark" shots.

Your weather sounds like ours. It's been raining almost non-stop for nearly 2 weeks.
