Funny you should say that he looks blue. In Japan they have a platypus character used by Japan Rail West, and it bugged me that it's blue, because a Platypus is brown.

The closest place to Brisbane where I've seen one was a campground near Mount Barney. The best views were at the campsite in Eungella national park in North Queensland.

You're welcome! I saw one in the middle of the day in the river near Uki in northern NSW, but you'd need the border open to go there.
