No, an old Norwegian proverb says “there is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing”.

Hi,

I like the photograph but not the temperature at which it was taken!

Regards,
Gordon.

Terrific image Janse. It cools me off just looking at it as I sit inside while it is 100 deg. Fahrenheit outside

Brrrrrrrr!!!

Definitely a nice shot, but why isn't there any smoke coming out of the chimney to suggest a nice warm fire to come inside to??

That quote about bad weather is one I love. Your photo suggests to me that the local weather has been worse recently .

I now live about 600 miles (965KM) farther south than where I did in my childhood and early adulthood. I spent many enjoyable days, in appropriate clothing, going for long hikes in weather like this. I love this photo. It brings back very fond memories! 'All the leaves are brown, and the sky is gray. I went for a walk, on a winter's day.' One of my favorite songs.

I miss snow; we very seldom get any here and it usually doesn't last 24 hours.

You can come visit me next winter if you want snow. Maybe we will order you a Nor' Easter. But July snow? Hard pass! But a very nice image Janse.

Don't think that Norwegian proverbs apply to Scotland...

I suppose absence makes the heart grow fonder. If I spend more time thinking about it, there are things about Northern weather that I don't miss:
Trying to scrape a 1/8" thick layer of ice off your car windows when you are late for work.
Shoveling 12" or more of snow off your sidewalk so that your neighbors don't sue you if they fall.
Walking home five blocks in -24°F temp because your car died due to fuel line freeze-up. By the time I got home, my hands had freeze-up due to inadequate gloves.
Driving home from work at 10 miles per hour even though you are in a Jeep 4WD because the other cars can't deal with the blizzard.

BTW SSGGeezer, I suppose there's no such thing as a Master Cat Wrangler, right? You are very fortunate you made it past Apprentice; I'm impressed.

And he's right!
Although good - and at least dry weather always feels better ;-)

Great photo! And the quote is one to live by. I love quotes like that.
