My neighbor up the road has a couple old cannons overlooking a small river that begins a few hundred yards from my residence. Hit the 4 way button accidentally so x-processed in camera.
Thought my K-1 was going crazy at first but as the light was terrible, I liked this after the fact. D-FA 150-450 @410mm. SOOC and crop only.

So you can say she was born by mistake? It's creepy having a neighbor with cannons, so you fire a Pentax and he fires a..., lost at the start.

Could be worse... they could have been Nikons.

An unusual - but cool - effect for a terrific subject.

I like it. Neat colors IMO. It would be interesting to know what historical period it is from. Revolutionary war? Civil war? It looks rather small judging by the nearby grass. A small naval top deck gun perhaps? I've seen them in documentaries, basically a shotgun used for anti-personnel in close-up fighting. Probably too big for a signal gun? I imagine there are probably markings on it somewhere that would help nail down its heritage.

I may wander up and see if there are makers marks and such. My room mate collects old tools that were made in this area. Just like the neighbor who was making a new handle for a CA1790 right handed Hewing axe that I posted some images of. Lots of treasures hiding in barns here.

I was about to comment that it looked like something I'd find out around Whitefield or Togus. Then I see you're in Maine! Well heck it just makes sense then.
