Nice series. That first shot was perfectly timed. But it looks like it would have been a big fish to down in one gulp!

Marvellous sequence! And that is certainly one big fish. Could it possibly down it? Raptors would rip it up, but herons etc normally swallow in one gulp, I think?

Anyway, very nice shooting on your part!

Outstanding captures!! I've watched herons catch fingerlings, but never anything that big. Amazing. Thanks for expanding our heron horizons with superb imagery.

That's why I've never seen a blue heron, we don't have that species,
there are only the grey heron version and the red one.
However, your shots illustrate the sequence in a very dynamic way. Unless you've agreed before?

See the photos in the link below of the birds that are present in Sardinia.
