Liftoff
Lens: DA*300 Camera: K-1 Photo Location: Prince George, BC ISO: 4400 Shutter Speed: 1/1500s Aperture: F4

Female Rufous Hummingbird lifting off from the birdbath after a soak. Note: the lens was fitted with step-down rings to achieve an effective aperture of f/5.6. This preserves the circular aperture for better bokeh while providing slightly deeper dof.

Thanks, all. Yes, please do try the step-down ring technique. I leave it on for all my wildlife shots now. The added shade from sidelight gives the image better contrast as well.
