I really like that photograph.

I took the liberty of cropping it, from the plant on the ground towards the left side, leaving just the stark figure of the Mockingbird against the pale, gray sky. Excellent that way too.

B & W is the right choice, IMHO and the angle of looking slightly upward towards the bird....works well .

Hey, Les, thanks much. Normally, I decide on B&W for a subject before I press the shutter button on the camera, but in this case, conversion to B&W was an afterthought.
