Out for a Wade
Lens: Sigma 150-500 DG OS for Pentax Camera: Pentax K-5 IIS Photo Location: NY ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 1/320s Aperture: F13.5

This Egret was near some grass in the lake when I saw it. Right after I started taking shots of it it decided to fly off, but I was able to get this one of it wading. I did a -3 exposure on it using TAV.

You've handled a day with harsh sunlight extremely well. Love these birds, I think they are so magnificent. Many thnx for the treat.

A great shot of an egret in situ. For reasons unknown to me, our town is inundated with 'em. We generally see a couple in the backyard every other day.

Thanks Tony. I sometimes do some minus exposure in light situations like this to bring the glare down. It works quite well in most cases.

Thanks Sailor. The egrets around here are usually less numerous than for example the Great Blue Heron, so when I get the chance to get some good shots of one I usually take advantage of it.
