Two walks...
Posted By: heliphoto, 11-03-2008, 09:21 PM

I've been able to get out walking with my camera the last two days. Yesterday we went to the local community college, which boasts one of the few (the only?) public ponds in the county, and today my son and I went trespassing to another pond nearer our home.

From yesterday... (it's a nice campus)

with the Tamron 70-200/2.8...

with the Sigma 24-60/2.8

From today, all with the Tamron 70-200/2.8...

I walked up the trail, thinking I might find waterfowl, but I didn't actually get ready for the eventuality... Ergo...

quickly turns to blur...

then wave after wave of ducks launched and sailed away while I changed the iso, and opened the aperture...
I did get this (a heavy crop not quite 100%...)

It would be fun to go back with the BIGMA, but for that, someone else has to carry the boy.

Thanks Susan. It had just rained and the colors were great.

Excellent work. Only a 2.8 or larger lens can produce those wonderful out of focus circles.

Great images Josh. #3 is stunning...colour, reflection & pleasing composition. The last one is a super capture as well.
