Hi Everybody,

Been awhile since i've posted anything up in here..... I've been crazy busy, thought I would pop in here and post some photos of a concert I shot recently...

THe artist is Tracy Byrd ( for anyone that knows country his most famous song is probably "Watermelon Crawl" )

The guy in the black jacket was his surprise opener that happens to be John Rich from the band Big N Rich who is also famous for another huge hit called "Save a Horse Ride A Cowboy"

Anyways feel free to comment on the photos..... I shot all these with manual flash, my K10, Tamron 28-78, and Pentax 50 1.4 / I also shoot more often directly into JPG format now, I have found that lowering the contrast 1 stop to the left of center, keeping saturation right in the middle and moving sharpness 2 stops to the right produces really good images suitable for printing and also making adjustments easily in camera raw later...

Concert Stuff / some of these photos have evident noise, what can I do? I tried to hide it as much as possible but I had to give myself depth of field and shutter speed to freeze the action... it is here I wish I was using something like a K20 for the extra stop of low noise advantage or a d90/d700/or D3.... for the 2 or 3 stops...















and ok not technically the day of the concert but another one of that blonde model up above that works at the club... ( totally for the guys ) : ) shot from the event on Halloween...

regarding that last photo its being made into 2 10 by 15 prints for the girl, she absolutely loves it, I am definitely going to do a photoshoot with her......

Great series captured. It's harder than it looks to create images like that.
And yep, that last one's stunning - the lighting makes it all happen.
